Occupying an island nation with a primarily agricultural economy, New Zealand’s cuisine is largely driven by local ingredients and seasonal variations. The cuisine of New Zealand is a diverse British-based cuisine, with Mediterranean and Pacific Rim influences as the country becomes more cosmopolitan, thanks to a dazzling range of ingredients and a truly multicultural society. New Zealand’s wine production has skyrocketed in the last twenty years, and vineyards now grow in every location where the climate allows viticulture. We will be joined by Jan Esielonis, US Brand Manager for Steve Bird Wines. Mussels with Basil Coconut-Cream Sauce served with Sauvignon Blanc; Salmon Burger over Vegetable Spaghetti served with Pinot Noir; Boneless Loin of Lamb with Ratatouille served with a Bordeaux-Style Red; Lemon Curd Tart with Mascarpone Cream served with Australian Moscato
