Gullah Cooking – Sunday Best Favorites – $75 Per Person
July 26 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Event Navigation
The Gullah people are descendants of slaves who live on the sea islands off the coast of South Carolina and Georgia. Their cooking was that of necessity, eating locally before it was a popular food trend. Sunday afternoons were often a time for large numbers of family and friends to gather, cook and eat outdoors while they traded stories and lies. Join Chef Johnnie for some down home favorites and a fun way to cook a whole turkey in much less time than roasting. Sweet Potato Fritters; Whole Fried Turkey; Macaroni & Cheese; Collard Greens with Ham Hock; Hoe Cakes with Peach Compote & Ice Cream
