Introducing Children to the Kitchen

We believe everyone can learn to cook, including children. Cooking is simply the application of a collection of fundamental skills. When we teach children to cook, we are giving them knowledge that will serve them for life. The sense of accomplishment that accompanIMG_6202ies a first dish, well executed, is something that a child never forgets.

Introducing Children to the Kitchen sets them on the road to self-sufficiency, and exposes them to the joy of doing something that they can share with their family and friends. Teaching our children about good, whole foods, healthfully prepared is the first step to helping them make the right choices as they become increasingly independent.

This program will teach children basic kitchen skills, will offer hands-on experience with simple recipes and easy preparation methods, and will expose them to a variety of foods and basic nutritional information. Material will be presented in a fun and accessible manner, in an environment that welcomes questions and encourages participation and discussion.

We welcome young chefs ages 9 to 13. No prior cooking experience is required. This fun and informative cooking program is divided into two sessions each 6 weeks long and will be held every Tuesday, except for November 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost of each session is $375, or you can enroll for the entire 12-week program for $700. During each class session the students will make an entire meal. Whatever they make each day they will enjoy eating during class time.
