Sometimes wine is daunting, and the fact that vintages change every year is one of the reasons. Was 2014 better than 2015? Worse? How are you supposed to know? One solution is not to worry about it (and have a corkscrew on hand). What makes a good wine? Obviously, it involves taste, texture, flavor, etc., but often a controlling factor is price. A good wine does not have to cost a lot of money – in fact, there are some very excellent wines under $25, and Chefs Pete and Stephen will be presenting some to you, along with great foods to go with them. Fennel Soup with Shrimp Corkscrews, served with Sauvignon Blanc; Grilled Rolled Eggplant with Ricotta-lemon Caviar and Goat Cheese mousse, served with Sonoma Coast Chardonnay; Grilled Sushi Grade Tuna over Rainbow Couscous, served with Pinot Noir; Braised Lamb Shanks over Lentil Ragu, served with Cabernet Sauvignon; Apple/Pear Galette
